Bethany Lehman

Q: Where are you from? (city, state)

A: Plainfield, Iowa

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood?

A: The paramedic program at Kirkwood allows me to continue to work full-time while completing the program.

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it?

A: I started working in EMS after college and discovered I actually really liked it. In an effort to be able to help more people and better serve others, I decided to get my paramedic cert.

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood?

A: Be a paramedic somewhere in the area.

Q: What inspires or motivates you?

A: Faith, family, friends…but most of all food/ice cream.

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

A: Absolutely love everything outdoors. I’ve been working seasonally for the National Park Service in EMS/SAR and spend as much time as I can backpacking/hiking/camping. I play ultimate here in Cedar Rapids with CRU and for a club team called LudICRous based out of IC/CR. I love all sports, biking, running…you name it, I like to stay active. On the flip side, I’m also a huge bookworm and love reading, puzzles, and board games. I have two absolutely adorable nieces and I spend as much time up in NE Iowa with my family as my work schedule allows.
