A: Ryan, Iowa
Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood?
A: Kirkwood offered the programs that I wanted.
Q: What is your major and how did you choose it?
A: I am currently working towards two majors: Paramedic and Entry Level Firefighter. I have always wanted to be a full-time firefighter paramedic on a local fire department.
Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
A: Dean’s List and this nomination.
Q: What inspires or motivates you?
A: I am motivated by the fact that all of the knowledge that I’m gaining now, I will soon use to save lives. I have been inspired by the female firefighters footsteps that I will soon follow in, and my mom.
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
A: I love spending time outdoors. I am an only child of a very compassionate, dedicated, and hardworking mom.
Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
A: I am very honored to receive this nomination.
