Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: Wellman, IA 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: I chose Kirkwood because it was a great local community college with a good Diesel Technician program. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: My major at Kirkwood is Diesel Truck/Ag, I chose this major because while working as a farmhand I found my passion of working on the agricultural equipment.  

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: My proudest moment thus far at Kirkwood was being asked to be the Diesel program’s outstanding student for the year.  

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: I plan to continue my work as a Diesel Ag Technician. 

Q: What inspires or motivates you?

A: I am most motivated by the fact that after I graduate from college, I will be able to work in the industry that I have been passionate about for years. 

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

A: I am the middle brother of my family, where I have gained interest in hunting, fishing, and working on my own vehicles. 

Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A: Being named an Outstanding Student has made me realize that my hard work in and out of the classroom has paid off in being recognized by my instructors.
