Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: I am from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: I chose Kirkwood because I wanted to further my education. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: My major is Business Administration Management.  I chose it because I want to become a part of management at my work.   I feel having better knowledge of the business field will help with that. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood was getting inducted into PTK. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: My plans after Kirkwood are to get my Bachelors in Management at Mount Mercy University.

Q: What inspires or motivates you?

A: What motivates me is having goals and looking ahead.  Once I’ve reached a goal, I make another. 

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

A: I play guitar and sing.  My Sister has her PHD in Microbiology in Boston.  My Mom had a stroke in January.  It was hard to juggle and stay focused with work, college, and the hospital. 

Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A: Outstanding Student means to go above and beyond what is expected.  I feel in order to do that you must prove your talent and abilities. 

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add? 

A: I work at Nordstrom Direct.  I’ve been there 9 years and hope to earn a place in management after I get my Bachelors.
