Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: I am from Luzerne, Iowa.

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A:  I chose to go to Kirkwood because I was unsure what I wanted to do for a career. I knew this was a good decision because it is low on cost and I am able to still transfer to a University.  

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A:  I am majoring in elementary education. I came to Kirkwood not knowing what I wanted to do and I chose to take a career decision making class and that helped me find teaching and that I love working with kids. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood has probably been being recognized as an outstanding student.  

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: My plans after Kirkwood are to transfer to the University of Iowa to get my bachelors degree in elementary education. I plan to get a job after I graduate and to complete my masters online.  

Q: What inspires or motivates you?

A: Setting goals for myself and achieving them is probably a big factor that has kept me motivated and excited to keep learning.  

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

A: Outside of Kirkwood I am usually with my family and friends. One of my favorite things to do is watch movies and be outside exploring through our timbers.

Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A:  Being named an outstanding student to me means being recognized for my hard work and determination that I have had while being in college. I am very grateful for this opportunity to be recognized for this achievement.
