A: Iowa City, Iowa
Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood?
A: I loved the flex forward program that Kirkwood offered because it accommodated my busy lifestyle.
Q: What is your major and how did you choose it?
A: Business Administration – Management. I chose this degree because I love interacting with people and working as part of an organized unit.
Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
A: Just being able to keep up with my classes while being a full time worker and mom has been my proudest moment.
Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood?
A: I will be pursuing my bachelor’s in business administration.
Q: What inspires or motivates you?
A: My two children are my biggest motivators. Getting my degree to pursue higher goals in order to provide the best life possible for them.
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
A: I love to spend time with my family! My husband and children are my whole world. When I’m not doing schoolwork, you can definitely find me spending time with them.
Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
A: It is a huge accomplishment for me. Knowing I haven’t been in school for 8 years, I was nervous I was not going to do well in college. This is a revalidation of my knowledge and ability to do whatever I put my mind to.
