Club Corner

Anime club unites students through shared passions

Kirkwood Club Corner

How did the club get started?  It was started by a group of Kirkwood students who love to talk and discuss all aspects of anime, animation, manga, games, etc.

What is the purpose of the club?  To make new friends that share an interest in anime, watch and discuss anime, arts and crafts based around anime and just have fun with other students that love anime.

What are the benefits of joining? Make new friends who like anime, learn about all types of anime, showcase anime talent and have fun.

How can students get involved?  By attending our bimonthly meetings.

When and where do you meet?  Nielson Hall, dates and times can be found on flyers around campus, Discord, or contact club advisor Samantha Hench at samantha.hench@kirkwood.edu or club co-advisor Keith Hench at keith.hench@kirkwood.edu.

What type of activities take place at the meetings? We watch anime, create anime manga, make Perler bead anime characters, t-shirts and tumblers with our own anime creations on them, make anime earrings and shrinky dinks, host an anime themed Halloween party and ramen party with real ramen, play games, and go to see anime movies in theaters.

Is there anything else you would like to add?  If you love anime, this is the club for you!
