Kirkwood’s Library staff are here for you as you finish up spring semester and look forward to a well-deserved break as we head into summer! We have:

• Exam Cram on Thursday, April 25, with special hours for help from Learning Commons’ learning assistants

• Extended Library hours during the last week of the semester

Research, Citation, and Technology Support

There are many ways to get help from the Library. Start at our homepage https://guides.kirkwood.edu, then select:

• Research Help Guides: Find an overview of the research process, how to search for different types of information such as scholarly journal articles, how to evaluate information, and more.

• MLA & APA Style Citation Guides: Find directions and citation examples to help you create your list of works cited and in-text citations.

• A-Z Databases: Use this link to access journal articles, ebooks, videos, and music. Not sure where to start? Academic Search Elite is a great first step, because the articles cover nearly every area of academic study.

• Librarians are available to help you with your research or citations during most library hours. Stop by the desk or chat with us online through our website to get expert help with your work.

Exam Cram, Thursday, April 25

Exam Cram is once again brought to you by the Sundberg Library & Learning Commons. This is a one-day event that provides students extra academic support and a little stress relief too!

Some of these events last the whole day, and some are for a limited time.

All events, food, and drinks are free. See our Exam Cram guide for a detailed schedule (guides.kirkwood.edu/examcram).  All events take place in the Library, first floor Benton Hall: Popcorn and other to-go snacks, coffee and tea, craft and coloring table, puzzles around the library, door prizes, walk-in study support in math and science courses (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), stress relief with Kirkwood counselors (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.), therapy dog visit (11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.)

The Library is the perfect place to study, with group study on the first floor and quiet study on the whole second floor; tables to spread out or soft chairs to get comfortable; rooms to study with a group; plus computers, printers, and people to help.

The Library will be open extra hours during the final days of the semester: Sunday, April 28,  3 – 10 p.m.; Monday-Thursday, April 29 – May 2,  7:30 a.m. – midnight; Friday, May 3, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sunday, May 5, 3 – 10 p.m.; Monday – Tuesday, May 6 – 7, 7:30 a.m. – midnight; Wednesday, May 8, 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
