The Library wants to help you finish the semester strong. Here are some ways we can help.
Research and citation support is available, just as it is year-round. We have access to lots of books, articles, news and streaming videos. We can help you figure out how and where to get started and how to refine your search as you go.
Do you need help with your references or works cited page? These can stump people more than the research, but we want to make sure they don’t! Pick up a handout with examples, ask a librarian or look at the MLA & APA Citation guides on our website at guides.kirkwood.edu/library.
How can you get help from the Library? Walk-in help is available during open hours. We love to see you in the library, but if that doesn’t work, contact us through chat, email or phone. Contact information is available on our website.
You can also schedule an appointment with a librarian through the “Make a research help appointment” link on the website. The appointment can be made for in-person or Zoom. It allows you to send us your questions in advance, so we can prepare before you get here.
If you’re looking for a place to study, we have lots of places to settle in with tables and study carrels or softer seating if you prefer that. Individuals and groups are welcome. We also have six small study rooms that hold four to six people. The rooms have Airtame monitors, and one of the rooms serves as a recording studio.
If you want to take a little break from studying, we keep a jigsaw puzzle or two on the go. Jigsaw puzzles are great stress reducers!
If you like to relax by reading, come check out our selection of popular books on the first floor. If other kinds of reading are your thing, our second floor is where we shelve all the other books we have.
Finally, the Library has created some craft kits this semester. We have lots of yarn, crochet projects, cross-stitch and coloring pages with colored pencils. If you’re feeling crafty, stop in and see what we have.
