Library shifts to summer schedule, maintains services

While the spring semester might be over and the usual bustle of campus slows down, the library is still open for your information and studying needs. While our hours might change, we are here to help in the usual ways during the spring and fall semesters.

For students, we have computer and printing services, as well as a quiet place to work if you have classes over the summer. Our librarians are also here to help with research questions and citation help.

Our physical collection is also available for browsing whether it’s popular fiction, memoirs, or a topic you’re interested in learning more about.  While we are transitioning the collection to the Library of Congress classification system, book locations will change as time goes on so don’t hesitate to ask a librarian where certain materials are.

For faculty, the library still offers classroom instruction visits or lessons in the library over the summer.  Our librarians can teach on a variety of topics including APA and MLA citations, how to use the databases, and information literacy.

You can schedule a session by filling out our instruction form on the library homepage or by emailing us at library@kirkwood.edu.

Summer hours at the library for the first session will be Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Hours for the second summer session will be 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Stop on in and happy reading!
