Kirkwood Community College offers a wide variety of services for students. Log on to for a complete list. 

Food Pantry – Drop-in services are available during operating hours or students can schedule a time to pick up items.

Iowa City Campus, Tuesday, 1 – 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Friday, noon – 4:30 p.m.,

United Way (211) – Crisis and emergency, health, food and housing resources, call 211. 

One Stop Office – Get help with academic advising, admission, Financial Aid and enrollment services, 319-398-7600, 

Writing Center – Main Campus, 2080 Cedar Hall, 319-398-5899 ext. 5777. Students can schedule an appointment or just walk in for service.

Iowa City Campus, Room 134, 319-887-3638. Students can schedule an appointment or just walk in for service.

Tutoring – Walk-in tutoring is conducted with unlimited usage throughout the semester. This is a free service to students.

Medical Services – For students needing non-emergency medical attention, Kirkwood Student Health Services are offered at the MercyCare Prairie Creek clinic in Cedar Rapids. Call 319-558-0342 to set up an appointment. Student Health Hours: Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Friday 8 – 11 a.m. Clinic Location: 777 76th Ave Dr SW, Cedar Rapids.

Counseling – Kirkwood Counseling Services offers a safe space for students where everything shared is completely confidential. Services are available at no cost to students currently enrolled at Kirkwood. For more information about the many types of services, log on to or call 319-398-5540. 

Public Safety – On campus services offered include 24-hour, 365 days a year campus services, escorts for students, faculty and staff, unlock and jump-starting of vehicles on campus, monitor and enforcement of driving regulations, responding to Blue Light Emergency Phones located throughout the main campus and other services. Call 319-398-7777 for assistance.  

Advising and Transfer Center – Helps students with their academic futures, from developing an academic plan to choosing the best courses to smoothly transfer to a four-year school. This department can also help clarify course requirements or refer students to support services if needed.
