Many activities have been canceled or changed recently as COVID-19 cases have gone up. However, there are still a few activities in the area. It is recommended to be aware of COVID-19 guidelines when attending any events. Additionally, if you just want to get out of your house for a while, go for a drive to see the Christmas lights, an Anamosa family has set their Christmas light to music that you can listen to on the radio. They are located on Dubuque Street in Anamosa.

Prelude to Christmas in the Amana Colonies – Experience the Amana Colonies decorated for the Holidays as well as sales and Christmas carols and view the Tannenbaum Forest.

Old World Christmas Market at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library – Locally made gifts and other items will be on with a traditional old-world flare.

Children’s Holiday Celebration at the Cedar Rapids Country Club A fireworks display with music and a visit from Santa and his elves whom brings snacks to everyone’s cars.

Holiday Laser Light Show at the Hawkeye Downs. The Hawkeye Downs will host a drive through laser light show. There will be three, half-hour time slots per evening.

Indian Creek Nature Center – Explore the stars on a brief nature walk while learning the stories attached to each constellation. Cost is $5 per child. Adults are free.

Maddie Poppe’s Acoustic Christmas at the Paramount Theatre – Maddie Poppe will perform a selection of acoustic Christmas music. Tickets are all sold in groups and guests will be sat 6 feet apart from other parties. Visit www.creventslive.com for tickets and show times.

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train – The Canadian Pacific Holiday train will be an online event that will allow you to view the train as it is lit up without leaving your home.
