Here at Kirkwood Community College, we have a food pantry that is free to use for all students. The food pantry is located on the third floor in Iowa Hall, and students can get groceries once a week.
The food pantry has a wide variety of groceries. You can get canned fruits, vegetables, some meats, and things like bread, milk, snacks and frozen meats. All Kirkwood students should be utilizing this fantastic amenity.
The Kirkwood food pantry is available to all students, no matter your situation, free of charge. To use the food pantry, you need to go to the check-in desk located on the third floor of Iowa Hall. They will check you in, and then you can take a seat in the waiting area. Once they are ready, they will walk you back to the food pantry.
As mentioned earlier, you can find a wide variety of groceries at the food pantry. There is a limit of about one or two items per shelf. Even with the item limitations, there are still plenty of groceries to be taken.
By the time you take a few minutes to browse all the shelves, your bags will be full. After you have gathered all of your groceries, they will weigh your bags and ask you for your K number. You are then free to go, and enjoy your free groceries.
Using the food pantry on campus can make your life easier financially. You can get groceries for free instead of spending $40 at the store. You can put that money toward gas or bills.
Personally, I have been using the food pantry for a few weeks now. It has made my life easier, and I plan to keep going back every week. The people who work at the food pantry are very friendly and helpful. They make the process very smooth and stress-free.
In conclusion, all students should be using the Kirkwood food pantry. You have nothing to lose and tons to gain. So, have your K number ready, and head over to the third floor of Iowa Hall to get your free groceries.
