Where are you from? I’m from Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood? I chose Kirkwood because of its financial advantages and close location. I found the environment easy to learn in and the professors very helpful.
What is your major and how did you choose it? Through various job shadows and research I chose Nuclear Medicine Technology as my major. This is a program at the University of Iowa that I will begin in the fall.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? So far my proudest moment was getting accepted into the program for Nuclear Medicine at the University of Iowa. I would not have been able to do it without the knowledge and information I gained while at Kirkwood.
What are your plans after Kirkwood? I plan to transfer to the University of Iowa and complete the Nuclear Medicine Program. I hope to work as a nuclear medicine technologist after the completion of the program.
What inspires or motivates you? Self improvement has been a large motivator for me throughout my time at Kirkwood. My goal is to help others and by learning as much as I can, I hope to share information with others in my career that can help them make beneficial changes to their life.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. I enjoy exercise, I believe that keeping in shape can have wonderful benefits to your mental health. Beyond exercise I enjoy reading and spending time with my friends.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? Being named an outstanding student means a lot to me. When I first started at Kirkwood I was very unsure what my goal and purpose were. I felt like I didn’t have much direction. I can now look at myself and know that the work I’ve put in has been beneficial to me and that others have recognized it. I am very thankful for this recognition.
