Eagles win over RedTails, 3-1

Kirkwood Community College returned to the volleyball court at Johnson Hall on Sept. 28. Their opponent for this match was Hawkeye Community College, and Kirkwood entered the game with a 21-3 record.   

Kirkwood controlled set one. Hawkeye had very little success in the first set, and the Eagles won the first round 25-15. 

Set two was much more competitive. The Eagles did not continue the momentum that they started with, and the Hawkeye Community College RedTails won 25-20 to tie the match at one all. 

Set three started strong for the RedTails but the Eagles got it going again. The Eagles were up 24-20 before conceding the next three points to the RedTails. Kirkwood was still able to hold on and win the third set by a score of 25-23. 

Set four was another exciting one. It was back-and-forth to begin but Hawkeye managed to pull out to a 13-10 advantage. Kirkwood rallied back and won the fourth set, 25-22. The match was won 3 sets to 1. 

Ava Morris led the way with 14 kills and Sierra Marshall had 13 digs for the Eagles.
