The Kirkwood baseball team swept Iowa Lakes on Saturday, May 8. The Eagles took both games 10-0 and then 8-0.
It was a dominating performance for Kirkwood as outscored Iowa Lakes 10-0 and then 8-0 in both contests. However, in the second game the big story was Luke Llewellyn having a no hitter, which led to another a huge performance for the Kirkwood baseball team. The Eagles are now 36-19 overall and 30-12 in the conference.
As mentioned earlier, Luke Llewellyn was the big story of the game. He had a no hitter and got his fourth win of the season. Llewellyn is now 4-2 on the season.
1b Justin Martinez was 2 of 4 and drove in an RBI. CF Josh Fitzgerald was 1 of 3 and also had an RBI in the win. Catcher Cade Moss finished with 1 hit and an RBI vs the Lakers.
Pitching for Iowa Lakes in the second game was Alexis Martinez, Delvis Claudio, Austen Daliet and Noah Murphy-Sealy. Martinez and Claudio pitched for two innings. Daliet and Murphy-Sealy combined for three innings. The Lakers finished the season at 6-52 and will hope the 2021/2022 season ends a lot better.
