Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: I am from Riverside, Iowa. 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: I choose Kirkwood so that I could affordably start my college degree and prepare to transfer to Iowa State. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering, I choose engineering because I like building and designing things, I choose mechanical because it is the most diverse field of engineering. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood was successfully 3D printing parts that I had designed on the engineering lab 3D printers that hadn’t been used in over 3 years. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: My plan is to continue my education at Iowa State. 

Q: What inspires or motivates you? 

A: I am motivated by the challenge my classes provide and the urge to do well and succeed in these challenging classes. 

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc. 

A: I like building and driving my project cars as well as drawing, fishing, pinstriping, and designing things in CAD. I enjoy going to a lot of car shows with my Parents and grandparents and drag races with my dad, Tim. 

Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A: Not to be cheesy, but it means a lot. I am more than honored that the Kirkwood faculty recognized how much I put into my classes and projects at Kirkwood and named me an outstanding student.
