Outstanding Students

Brynne Ronan

Where are you from? I am from Lone Tree, Iowa

Why did you choose Kirkwood? I chose Kirkwood for their great healthcare programs, the proximity to my hometown and family, and the small class sizes that fit the way I wanted to learn.

What is your major and how did you choose it? I am currently in the Medical Assisting program and chose this major to eventually get my nursing degree but wanted to get ‘my foot in the door’.

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? My proudest moments at Kirkwood have included being on the Dean’s List every semester and being selected as one of the Outstanding Medical Assisting students.

What are your plans after Kirkwood? After I graduate from Kirkwood I plan to work as a Certified Medical Assistant and then go back to school in 1-2 years to become an oncology nurse.

What inspires or motivates you? My desire to help others is what motivates and inspires me every day. With the need for healthcare workers, I feel like I can help make a difference in every patient’s life.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, my family and my friends. I also enjoy cooking, doing puzzles, and watching movies.

What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? It means so much to me to be nominated and selected as an Outstanding Student. I will forever be honored to have received this recognition.
