Outstanding Students

Reba Snodgrass

Where are you from?

I am from Kalona, Iowa.

Why did you choose Kirkwood?

I chose Kirkwood because someone mentioned the college, and as I looked into it, I liked what I saw. I had been praying about what direction to take in my nursing career and also with my life as a whole, then things started falling into place. I love how the professors at Kirkwood do everything they can to help you, encourage you and push you to succeed.

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?

My proudest moment at Kirkwood, thus far, was getting nominated for the Outstanding Student award.

What inspires or motivates you?

I have worked very hard and have spent countless hours studying. I am proud of my accomplishments and being recognized for them. Learning how to form proper study habits has been a game-changer for me and has helped me get to where I am now. I have my classmates and study buddies, Cece and Reiley, that push me to be my best. My family is supportive and I appreciate that beyond what words can explain. My fiancé, Samuel, is my biggest supporter and I don’t know what I would do without him.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

To be successful in college, I would say having good study habits in place will make a tremendous difference. I also strongly believe that everyone should have a stress-free and happy place. Mine is my Thursday night line dancing at Wildwood. Line dancing for me is a way to just be happy and get away from the workload of school and life. Another hobby I enjoy engaging in is taking care of house plants. Lastly, I adore biking with Sam after Church on Sundays, when it isn’t freezing outside, of course.
