Volleyball: The volleyball team is living up to expectations after last year’s stellar 37-3 season and is now one of the best teams in the country among NJCAA Division-II teams. With a record of 14-0, Kirkwood is the best team in the ICCAC. The volleyball team is returned by second-team all-American Carly Wazac, who so far this season is leading Kirkwood in kills (3.38 K/S) and is second in blocks (1.08 B/S).
Golf: The Kirkwood golf team is starting the fall schedule. The team, led by head coach Darin Pint, has begun its fall season. Through just two meets, five golfers have put up under-par rounds already. This list includes returning sophomores Isaiah Zoske, Ted Sargeant. Ryan Lynch and Dean Roberts. Freshman A.J. Sposato had a under-par round himself.
Baseball: The Kirkwood baseball team is coming off a season where they finished with a 45-10 record as well as a 21-6 record in conference play. The Eagles are led by sophomore first baseman Jax Theeler who hit 13 home runs alongside a .388 batting average. Head coach Todd Rima is going into his 15th season as Kirkwood’s coach. He currently boasts a total record of 495-256.
Softball: The Kirkwood softball team is coming off an amazing 60-7 season in 2025-2026 with a jaw-dropping (.972) victory ratio in conference play and a 20-1 record at home. Currently, the team is amidst its fall-ball season. The regular season begins in the spring. Some of these fall scrimmage matches will be against NCAA Division-I schools. Sophomore Breckin De La Rosa will return to the Eagles. Last season she had a .433 batting average alongside 18 home runs.
Men’s Basketball: The men’s basketball team is coming off a season where it went 21-9 and 13-7 in conference play. Kirkwood was led by Manasse Kosongo, who averaged 11.9 points per game with a 57.9 field goal percentage and averaged 6.8 rebounds to boot. Head coach Tim Sanquist is heading into his eighth season as head coach.
Women’s Basketball: The women’s basketball team is coming off a 30-5 season last year with a 20-2 conference record. The Eagles are facing a new identity after the retirement of longtime head coach Kim Muhl, who had been Kirkwood women’s basketball coach for 37 years. The new head coach, Nate Oakland, brings a wealth of coaching experience, including his most recent coaching gig as an assistant coach for the University of Northern Iowa’s women’s basketball team. Kirkwood is returned by sophomore Erianna Moeschter scored 9.1 points per game with a 72.2 shooting percentage.
