Writing help

Students can get free assistance from one of the college’s Writing Center faculty. Logon to https://www.kirkwood.edu/cow and follow the instructions.

Tuesday Tune-Ups

Kirkwood counselors will offer personal growth and improvement sessions to students, staff and faculty on Tuesdays throughout the semester during Activity Hour, from 11:15 a.m. – 12:10 p.m. in 3042 Iowa Hall.  Upcoming sessions: April 11 – Are You What You Share? and April 18 – Superpowers of ADHD. 

Free bowling

Head over to May City Bowl for free bowling on Tuesday, April 11, from 3 – 5 p.m. Students can scan in at the event using the event check-in QR code located in their MyHub app. May City Bowl is located at 1648 Trent St SW, Cedar Rapids.

Iftar meal boxes

This event, organized to show support of Muslim students during Ramadan will take place in Iowa Hall on Wednesday, April 12, from 10 a.m. – noon. Meal boxes are designed for the Muslim student population but are open to anyone after noon.

Global Spotlight: Brazil

Stop by the first floor of Iowa Hall to learn more about the country of Brazil from Kirkwood’s International Students. This event will be Thursday, April 13, from 11:15 a.m. – 12:10 p.m.

Jazz concert

Students in the Kirkwood Instrumental Jazz Ensemble will perform Saturday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Ballantyne Auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend.
