Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: I’m from Bujumbura, Burundi. 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: I choose Kirkwood because it is affordable, has smaller class sizes, diverse areas of study, and it’s close to home. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: My major is nursing, I choose nursing because it’s a flexible and rewarding career but most importantly I want to help make a difference in people’s lives. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: Proudest moment at Kirkwood would have to be the PTK honor society induction ceremony. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: My plan after Kirkwood is to pursue a BSN at the University of Iowa. 

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

A: Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, teaching myself new languages, reading and cooking delicious African meals.  

Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A:  Being named an Outstanding Student to me means being disciplined, motivated and willing to take on new challenges.
