Dance Marathon: ‘Tonight’s gonna be a good night’

Kirkwood Dance Marathon quick facts:

• Students raise money for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City
• Raised $20,000 by 6 p.m.
• Gained an additional $2,900 as the night went on
• Parents of children shared their stories and memories about Liam, Austin, Tate, Dirks, Nile, Hanson Triplets and twins Gemma and Lily
• Parents also discussed how fundraisers like these help their children and families
• Kirkwood is the only community college in Iowa that hosts its own Dance Marathon event
• Every year there is a theme song. This year was “I Gotta a Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas
