A: I am from Marion, Iowa
Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood?
A: I chose to go to Kirkwood because I really wanted to make it through college without accumulating any debt. Luckily, I live close to Kirkwood so I don’t have to pay any extra expenses like living on campus, so it all just made sense.
Q: What is your major and how did you choose it?
A: I am a Computer Science major. I chose Com Sci because I have always been fascinated with computers and how they work, as well as all the cool things you can do with coding.
Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood was making the Dean’s list following my first semester of college.
Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood?
A: After Kirkwood, I am continuing my education at Iowa State University to finish my four-year Com Sci Degree.
Q: What inspires or motivates you?
A: My Dad inspires me to keep working hard even if it’s difficult, because, it’s going to be worth it in the end.
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
A: Outside of Kirkwood, I enjoy tennis, swimming, and running. I also enjoy spending time with friends (even if it is only online) and hanging out with my family every once in a while.
Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
A: I am very excited to be named “Outstanding Student”. It really shows me that all my hard work has paid off over the past 2 years. Despite all the struggle with the pandemic this year, along with some of the hardest classes I have taken, it’s nice to be recognized.
