Where are you from? I am from Marion, Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood? Because of its strong reputation and great selection of IT programs. Prior to enrolling I had heard nothing but great things about their offerings in the field, which aligned perfectly with my career goals and interests.
What is your major and how did you choose it? I am a Computer Support Specialist major, the choice for this program came easy to me because I’ve always had a great interest in working with computers, and I love solving problems.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? It was when I earned my AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, thanks to the opportunity provided through one of my courses. It felt like a real accomplishment, highlighting not only my dedication, but also the skills and knowledge I gained through my education at Kirkwood.
What are your plans after Kirkwood? I plan to step into the workforce and utilize the knowledge and skills I’ve gained. However, I’m dedicated to continuous learning and development. My aim is to consistently progress and thrive in my chosen career path.
What inspires or motivates you? My peers and instructors play a major role in inspiring and motivating me. The mentorship, motivation, and collaboration of these people, translate into my ambition to excel and be better. I am proud to be part of this community which values growth and learning, because I know it pushes me to strive for excellence in my academic and personal goals.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? It is a tremendous honor for me. It’s a validation of my hard work, dedication, and accomplishments during my time at Kirkwood. This recognition motivates me to continue striving for excellence and to serve as a positive example for others.
Is there anything else you’d like to add? Lastly, I want to express how grateful I am for the invaluable support and dedication shown by the Computer Support Specialist and Network and Server Administration program faculty. Their undeniable commitment to student success has been a driving force behind my achievements. Throughout my entire time at Kirkwood, I felt my instructors had a genuine care and interest in helping me to grow and succeed, their support has inspired me to reach new heights and pursue my goals with passion and determination.
