Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: Anamosa, Iowa 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: Previous Student – Completed AAS – Accounting in 2012 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: Business Management – my husband and I own a construction company 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: Completing five classes in seven weeks. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: Obtain a degree in Human Resources to aid in the management of our company. 

Q: What inspires or motivates you? 

A: I strive to teach my kids what determination means and the success that comes from hard work. 
 
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc. 

A: I’m a wife and a mother of eight kids, ranging from five months to 22 years. We have a 3-year-old grandson who is older than our two youngest babies. I love spending time with my family. I don’t like to shop; but I do love tattoos and piercings. To relax, I love to shoot my bow and/or guns, and I love to hunt. 
 
Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A: I aim to excel in all my classes. This award validates I’ve done just that. 

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add? 

A: I’m excited to graduate with my 2nd Associates degree, on my 40th birthday.
