Outstanding Students

Samantha Hunger

Where are you from? Washington, Iowa.

Why did you choose Kirkwood? I’ve had the opportunity to earn college credit during high school through Kirkwood, and it’s been a great experience.

What is your major and how did you choose it? I’m a Liberal Arts major. I started taking general classes and then decided to continue doing that and take the classes necessary for this degree.

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? Some of my proudest moments have been when I ended the semester with good grades, grades that I know I worked hard for. Getting on the dean’s list has been a highlight as well.

What are your plans after Kirkwood? I plan on continuing my education to become a pharmacist.

What inspires or motivates you? I’m motivated by my desire to be successful and prepare for my future to the best of my ability. I’ve always been inspired by my parents and the great example of hard work they’ve set for me.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. Outside of school, I love to read, play volleyball, and spend time with friends and family.

What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? It means a lot to me. I’ve worked hard, and done my best, so it’s an amazing feeling to be recognized for that.
