Q: Where are you from?
A: Hudson, Iowa
Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood?
A: I wanted to pursue a career as a PTA. Kirkwood was the best option for education and experience offered.
Q: What is your major and how did you choose it?
A: My major is Physical Therapist Assistant. I chose this because of my interest in physical therapy and patient care that I have had for years. The opportunity to help others gives me continued inspiration.
Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood was displaying my knowledge gained from the curriculum in my clinical rotations. By the end of each rotation, I felt confident in my abilities. Seeing everything come together is such a great feeling.
Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood?
A: After Kirkwood, I plan to study hard for my licensure exam and get a job set as a PTA.
Q: What inspires or motivates you?
A: I am motivated by my loved ones and my patients. My loved ones have been by my side and supporting me and push me to be the best person I can be. My patients inspire me as they remind me why I do what I do.
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
A: Outside of Kirkwood, I am often hanging out with my family, girlfriend, and friends. I also am a runner and enjoy watching sports (especially soccer). I also like to play video games from time to time. Whenever I have the time put together, I love to travel and see new places!
Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
A: Being named an Outstanding Student is a great honor. It is always nice to see your hard work being acknowledged. I am lucky to be surrounded by great professors, classmates, and faculty that promote learning in the best ways. They are all outstanding to me!
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
A: It has been a great time here at Kirkwood. I am grateful for the memories I have created, friends I have made, and education I have gained.
