Outstanding Students

Troy Green

Where are you from? Victor, Iowa.

Why did you choose Kirkwood? Primary cost and convenience. I enjoy that my professors have real world experience.

What is your major and how did you choose it? Customer Support Specialist, I chose CSS because I’ve always been drawn to computers and solving problems.

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? Taking first place at Iowa State cyber defense competition as the vice president of the Kirkwood Cyber Defense Club.

What are your plans after Kirkwood? Working in the field and raising my little girl with my wife.

What inspires or motivates you? My family and future motivate me. I want to give my all and do my best for them.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. I am a soon to be father of my first child. I have been married for six years in September. My hobbies include building cars, woodworking, retro gaming and building unconventional computers.

What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? It’s an honor considering my first go at Kirkwood. I quickly lost passion and to be recognized means my hard work is paying off.

Is there anything else you’d like to add? Thank you to my wife for being so supportive and for my employer for being flexible with my schedule.
