Members of Kirkwood Student Media, which includes the Communiqué and Kirkwood Student Productions, attended the annual Iowa College Media Association convention in Des Moines on Feb. 6 and 7.
The organizations submitted their best work to be judged by professionals in the media industry.
The Communiqué awards are as follows:
1st place- Best Use of Social Media to Désiré Kouassi
1st place- Best Online Design to James Dykeman and Nikko Francois
2nd place- Best Online Edition to Staff
2nd place- Best Staff Editorial to Staff
2nd place- Best Sports Feature to Jessica Earle
2nd place- Best News Story to Juana Jones
2nd place- Best Sports Photo to Jeff Sigmund
2nd place- Best Page 1 to Staff
3rd place- Best Special Section Cover to Staff
Honorable Mention- Feature Photo to Juana Jones
