How was the club started? The Navigators is an organization with many chapters around the country.
About 9 years ago, some sponsors wanted to start a group at Kirkwood to provide a place where students of any background can learn about Jesus Christ. They met some interested students, and the club has been going ever since.
What is the purpose of the club? The Navigators are here to know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same.
In pursuing this goal, we help create a community on campus centered around studying the Bible together.
When/where do you meet? The Navigators meet every Wednesday from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in Cedar Hall, Room 1055.
What do meetings consist of? We share individual highs and lows of life, then dive into reading and discussing a section of the Bible and how it applies to modern life.
What are some benefits of joining? Make friends at Kirkwood who share similar interests and learn about Jesus and the Bible in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Anyone is welcome, even if you have no previous experience with faith or religion.
How do interested students get in touch? Attend a Nav Connect Bible study or reach out to the club’s advisor, Karol White, or the club’s president, Riley Curtis.
Who is part of the leadership? Karol White, advisor. Riley Curtis, president. Joy Kleveland and Aaron Koppen, club sponsors.
How long has the club been around? The Navigators have been at Kirkwood since 2015.
Are there any upcoming events? Feb. 16-18, 2024, we will be sending students to a regional worship and teaching conference called Disciplemaker’s Conference.
Is there anything else you would like to add? We welcome anyone at any time throughout the year, so if you’re considering attending a Nav Connect, we’d love to see you there!
