Where are you from? I am from Jesup, Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood? I chose Kirkwood since I had heard from others it was a great program to go through for the field I wanted to go into.
What is your major and how did you choose it? I am in Horticulture Sciences, and I chose it because I have an interest in going into greenhouse management and Kirkwood having its own greenhouse was a very compelling feature.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? I had the chance to work at the Kirkwood greenhouse and put in a brand-new prairie out front of the building.
What are your plans after Kirkwood? I plan to move out to Illinois and work at a production greenhouse.
What inspires or motivates you? My own drive to be proud of my accomplishments and to be able to look back and know I gave it my all.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. I am a big plant enthusiast and have my own private collection of houseplants that I take care of and enjoy spending time with my friends and family when I’m not at work or school.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? It shows me that my efforts have had an impact and have been noticed by those around me and I am glad to be awarded for all my hard work. Is there anything else you’d like to add? Thank you for choosing me. I hope to continue my efforts going forward to make a life I enjoy.
