Washington, Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood?
I started taking Kirkwood classes when I was a sophomore in high school. I earned 42 credits by the end of my high school career so I decided to continue my studies here.
What is your major and how did you choose it?
I am a Liberal Arts major. All of the classes I take at Kirkwood for this degree will transfer to the University of Iowa.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
This award has to be my proudest moment. I never thought that my work would be noticed. This award shows me how much I truly put into my classwork.
What are your plans after Kirkwood?
I plan to continue my studies to get a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa.
What inspires or motivates you?
My family inspires and pushes me. It was important for me to find a major that I would enjoy and they supported me through all of my major changes. They have my back when it comes to my goals.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
Outside of Kirkwood, I work and spend time with my family. Living in the country has allowed me to spend plenty of time outdoors and take my dogs on long walks.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
It is an honor to receive this award. I never thought that I would be recognized for my work efforts. It means a lot to be recognized like this.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just want to thank the faculty members who nominated me for this award. It’s an honor.
