Outstanding Students

Gabrielle Henecke

Where are you from? I am from Anamosa, Iowa.

Why did you choose Kirkwood? I chose Kirkwood as I was still unsure of a definitive major while in high school.

What is your major and how did you choose it? I am currently a Biology Transfer Major (AS).

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? Finishing my microbiology course with 100%.

What are your plans after Kirkwood? After Kirkwood I plan to attend the University of Iowa as a chemistry major (BS) and later attend pharmacy school there as well.

What inspires or motivates you? Achieving my dream of becoming a pediatric pharmacist motivates me most.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. Aside from school I enjoy reading, organizing, and have an interest in researching snake venom.

What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? Being awarded an Outstanding Student Award has allowed me to appreciate all of my hard work and dedication toward my academics over the last few years.

Is there anything else you’d like to add? I will forever cherish my successes and more importantly my failures at Kirkwood as both have led me to become the outstanding student I am today.
