I am from Muscatine, Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood?
I chose Kirkwood because I had only heard great things about the campus, quality of education, my program and more.
What is your major and how did you choose it?
My major is Dental Assisting and I am planning on doing Dental Hygiene as well. I chose the dental field because I have always loved teeth, going to the dentist, getting my teeth cleaned, etc. so, I thought it was a clear sign that I was fascinated in dental and that was my calling. I also love the impact that dental professionals have on patients when all their work is done.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
My proudest moment at Kirkwood thus far is being nominated by my wonderful teachers for this Outstanding Student award. It is truly an honor to represent my class of dental assistants this year.
What are your plans after Kirkwood?
My plan after Kirkwood is to start and love my career and to see where that takes me in life.
What inspires or motivates you?
What motivates me in life is to better myself day by day and be as successful, healthy and happy as I can. My family is so supportive of me and loving. I am grateful to have a little sister, older brother, mom, dad, stepmom and more that all have my back no matter what. Some of my hobbies include working out, spending time with friends and family, traveling and watching TV shows.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
It is such an honor being named Outstanding Student. It is rewarding to be recognized for the hard work that gets put into being a successful student. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my supporters.
