Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: Riceville, Iowa 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: I chose Kirkwood for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: My major is an AAS Occupational Therapy Assistant. I chose this career path because I am passionate about helping individuals return to their prior level of function or assist them with adapting to their new normal. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood was being a member and the Vice President of the Kirkwood Student Occupational Therapy Assistant organization (KSOTA) because for one of our volunteer opportunities, I helped with the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: My plans after Kirkwood are to move to the Des Moines area and find an Occupational Therapy Assistant job in a hospital setting. 

Q: What inspires or motivates you? 

A: My family inspires me to be the best version of myself and to work hard at everything I do. 
 
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc. 

A: I enjoy spending time with my husband, Chris, and puppy, Wrigley along with both of our families. I enjoy riding bike, going to the dog park to walk outdoors, and traveling. 
 
Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A: Being named an Outstanding Student means the hard work and time I have spent in this program has helped validate my passion for helping patients. 

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add? 

A: You can achieve anything you set your mind to.
