Where are you from? North Liberty, Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood? As a nontraditional student, I knew that I wanted to find a 2-year program that would allow me to transition careers efficiently. I started researching programs in the area and talking to people in the Interior Design industry who had great things to say about Kirkwood’s program and how well it prepares students to hit the ground running in their careers.
What is your major and how did you choose it? Interior Design. I chose this because I am passionate about design and wanted to make a career of it. What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? My proudest moment will be completing this very challenging program while doing my best to balance work and home life at the same time.
What are your plans after Kirkwood? I am taking advantage of the opportunity to do the Kirkwood Interior Design Study Abroad to Italy in July, then will start working at a local interior design firm.
What inspires or motivates you? I am inspired by all the wonderful classmates I’ve gotten to know over the last two years. They are amazingly talented, and I can’t wait to see where their careers take them and what beautiful spaces they create.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. I am a soccer mom, cycling enthusiast, and amateur cookie decorator.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? I am truly honored to be recognized!
