Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A: Center Point, Iowa 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A: I chose Kirkwood because I felt this college was a right fit for me. I liked the home feeling away from home. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: My major is Apparel Merchandising and Design, I chose to be in this program because I want to impact and make a difference in the fashion industry. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: I have joined the Kirkwood fashion magazine team, Bricolage, as the editor in chief. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: I plan to attend either Iowa State University or Northern Iowa University to continue my fashion design education. 

Q: What inspires or motivates you? 

A: I love to upcycle old garments into a new trendy outfit. It helps the environment by keeping clothing out of landfills. 
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc. 

A: I am a fun loving person who enjoys all new experiences and getting to meet people along the way. I work two jobs and spend any free moment I can with friends and family.  

Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A: This honor shows me that I am capable of anything if I have the right mindset.  

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add? 

A: I want to thank Professor Stanley for nominating me for this award. She has shown me want it means to be a hard working student and how it pays off in the end.
