Q: Where are you from? (city, state)
A: St. Charles, Missouri
Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood?
A: I received BA from University of Iowa and wanted to continue in Nursing. Kirkwood offered me an opportunity for a nursing degree at reasonable cost and allowed me to stay close to my friends and church.
Q: What is your major and how did you choose it?
A: Nursing, I have always been interested in the medical field and enjoy helping people and interacting with patients.
Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
A: Getting invited to join OADN Nursing Honor Society
Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood?
A: Move to Northern Colorado to begin my nursing career and help plant a new church in that area.
Q: What inspires or motivates you?
A: To live a Christ filled life helping others through Nursing and my church.
Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
A: Gymnastics has always been my passion since I was 2. I came to Iowa as walk-on to gymnastics team and continued as manager for my 4 years at Iowa. My family is my biggest support system and without them would not have made it through Iowa or Kirkwood. Once I move to Northern Colorado I am looking forward to doing a lot of outdoor activities.
Q: What does be named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
A: I am grateful to the Kirkwood Nursing staff for nominating me for this award. I often struggle with my confidence in my academic knowledge and this helps to give me confidence.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
A: Thank you to the nursing staff for providing me a wonderful education and supporting me through the difficulties of the program.
