Where are you from?
I live in Iowa City, Iowa, but I am originally from Democratic Republic of Congo (DR. Congo).
Why did you choose Kirkwood?
I chose Kirkwood to learn English because English is not my first language.
What is your major and how did you choose it?
Nursing is my major. Back in DR. Congo, I was in medical school.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
I’ve had many proud moments at Kirkwood, from earning good grades to receiving this scholarship.
What are your plans after Kirkwood?
After Kirkwood, I plan to transfer to Mount Mercy to study nursing.
What inspires or motivates you?
The desire to help people motivates me.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
I am a mother of two and a wife, which keeps me busy. I also work as a tutor helping other students as part of my work-study.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
Being an outstanding student makes me proud because it acknowledges my hard work and effort.
