Why did you choose Kirkwood?
I chose Kirkwood because I was still unsure about how to fulfill my goals and what my next steps would be.
What is your major and how did you choose it?
My major at Kirkwood is Liberal Arts but my goal is to get my master’s in occupational therapy. I chose occupational therapy because I want to make a difference in people’s lives. I volunteered to work with disabled veterans and it was such a great feeling to be able to make a difference in someone’s life.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
My proudest moment at Kirkwood thus far has been being nominated as part of the All-Iowa Academic team and attending the ceremony for it.
What are your plans after Kirkwood?
My plans after Kirkwood are to transfer to the University of Iowa and get my bachelor’s in psychology. After that I plan to transfer to Saint Ambrose University to get my master’s in occupational therapy.
What inspires or motivates you?
What motivates me every day is the feeling of making family and myself proud. What also motivates me is the fact the someday I will be able to help someone and make a difference in their life.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.
My hobbies outside of school include my job and spending time with friends and family. I work at a daycare and it is such a rewarding job for me. I love working with children every day and being a part of their day.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
Being an Outstanding Student is an accomplishment and an honor. It’s a rewarding feeling knowing that I have been chosen as an Outstanding Student. It motivates me to continue to accomplish my goals.
