I am from Burlington, Iowa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood?
I choose Kirkwood Community College because of their successful pass rate in the occupational therapy assistant program.
What is your major and how did you choose it?
My major is occupational therapy assistant. I choose occupational therapy assistant because I enjoy helping people, teaching them ways to do things independently and helping/watching them grow.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?
My proudest moment at Kirkwood will be graduating in May.
What are your plans after Kirkwood?
My plans after Kirkwood include passing the certification exam and finding a COTA job in my hometown.
What inspires or motivates you?
My family and friends motivate and encourage me. I am also motivated by knowing as a COTA I will be able to help people of all ages get back to their fullest potential.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?
The Outstanding Student award means a lot to me because it makes me feel as if my hard work throughout the program has been seen and has paid off.
