Q: Where are you from? (city, state) 

A:  I’m from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

Q: Why did you choose Kirkwood? 

A:  I chose Kirkwood because I wanted to get an education while being close to home. 

Q: What is your major and how did you choose it? 

A: My major is Paralegal Studies. I chose it after taking a Criminal Justice class and becoming interested in careers in that field. 

Q: What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?  

A: My proudest moment at Kirkwood would be getting a perfect score on my final paper in my Composition II class. 

Q: What are your plans after Kirkwood? 

A: My plans after Kirkwood are to continue working and use my skills as a Paralegal to advance my career. 

Q: What inspires or motivates you?

A: My family and my friends are what motivate me. 

Q: Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

A: Outside of Kirkwood, I enjoy spending time with my family and my fiancé by hanging out at home, or going shopping with my friends. 

Q: What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? 

A:  It means a lot to me to be named an Outstanding Student. I’ve worked hard while juggling a lot so it’s rewarding to know that the hard work paid off. 

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add? 

A:  I would like to say thank you to the faculty that nominated me for this award, and to the faculty, family, and friends who have helped me get to this point.
