Outstanding Students

Stacie White

Where are you from?

Williamsburg, Iowa.

Why did you choose Kirkwood?

I chose Kirkwood for the smaller class and campus size.

What is your major and how did you choose it?

I graduated from the nursing program in December and am currently in the liberal arts program finishing up the last few credits I need in order to transfer into my next program at the University of Iowa.

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?

Graduating the nursing program.

What are your plans after Kirkwood?

I will attend the University of Iowa this fall for their nursing program in order to get my bachelor’s degree.

What inspires or motivates you?

Helping people understand what is going on with their bodies and how they can feel better motivates me.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

I am a single mom to a fifteen year old son and have a six year old boxer. I love to cook, listen to music and spend time with my family. I am a volunteer with the veteran disaster response organization, Team Rubicon.

What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?

I was honestly pleasantly surprised to be named an Outstanding Student. I don’t know that there is anything that much more outstanding to me than any other Kirkwood students in my eyes. I appreciate the nomination.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Thank you to my Kirkwood instructors and staff who have helped me throughout my Kirkwood career.
