Where are you from?

I am from the small town of Chelsea Iowa.

Why did you choose Kirkwood?

I chose to go to Kirkwood because the smaller classes make it easier to learn and connect with the professors.

What is your major and how did you choose it?

I am currently majoring in Electronics Engineering. I chose this degree because I’m passionate about engineering and because I want to pursue a career in roller coaster design.

What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood?

My proudest achievement at Kirkwood is completing calculus 1 through 3 with good grades. Math has always been interesting but hard for me. It was very rewarding to finish calculus with good grades.

What are your plans after Kirkwood?

My plans after Kirkwood are to attend the University of Iowa to earn my bachelor’s degree and to pursue my goal of becoming a roller coaster engineer.

What inspires or motivates you?

I am inspired to succeed by my family and peers. I have had a lot of engineering influence by my father, my teachers, my friends and my grandparents. I am determined to work hard to shape the world like they do.

Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood – hobbies, family, other interests, etc.

Outside of Kirkwood I am a motivated entrepreneur always looking for the next big thing. Currently, I am working on a patent and starting a business.

What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you?

Being named Outstanding Student means a lot to me because its recognition for all the hard work and time I have put into my education.

I would like to thank my professors and my study group for helping me get here.
