‘Not your average playhouse’

Giving Tree Theater isn’t an average theater.

GTT offers plays, comedians, game nights and so much more. No matter what students are into, GTT has something for everyone.

“With couches for seating it’s like watching a movie from home but in a live setting,” said owner Jamie Henley. At GTT audience members can purchase tickets online or walk in and see the show. Seats aren’t assigned and are chosen upon arrival.

GTT also offers concessions that customers can bring in while they watch the show. Some of these include Millstream Root Beer and Cream Soda, Marion’s Chocolate shop chocolates and treats from Almost Famous Popcorn and Kathy’s Pies.

GTT strives also to be family friendly and have events and activities for all ages. They sometimes offer acting classes for kids and adults. “The biggest thing to us is to be family friendly, plus you don’t need experience to be on stage and it’s a great way to get a start in acting,” said Henley.

GTT can be a start for anyone wanting to be an actor. GTT strives to help new actors gain skills, confidence and relationships through theater. GTT is always looking for new actors to perform at the theater. For more information on auditions go to www.givingtreetheater.com.

Not only does GTT have fun events happening year round but guests can rent the theater for an event or birthday party. Birthday parties at GTT last two hours, have party games led by the owners and a photo booth with props and costumes used in other productions.

Buyers can bring their own food and refreshments for their party. For ten partygoers it costs $100 and an additional $5 for each person after that, up to 15 people.
