Where are you from? Lome, Togo, West Africa.
Why did you choose Kirkwood? I chose Kirkwood because it is one of the most prestigious community colleges in the U.S.
What is your major and how did you choose it? I chose Industrial Maintenance Technologies (IMT) because it has more opportunities for the future and I like to work with my hands.
What has been your proudest moment at Kirkwood? My proudest moments have been when I received the SMRP 2023 Certificate of Scholarship Award and being selected as one of the Outstanding Students. As a father of two daughters, I want to show them it is possible to be who you want to be.
What are your plans after Kirkwood? I would like to find a good job and continue to learn and work on projects.
What inspires or motivates you? My family and teachers motivate me, as well as those who don’t believe I am capable of achieving my goals.
Tell us about who you are outside of Kirkwood. Mostly, I work hard to take care of my family; I enjoy working on projects and learning new things. I also enjoy watching movies.
What does being named an Outstanding Student mean to you? Being chosen as an Outstanding Student reaffirms all my hard work has been worthwhile.
